We are back at Campus Madrid with The Artian Art & Tech event series. This time we will host the artist Laura F. Gibellini.
Gibellini is a process-based artist. In her works, she explores the ways to visualize the invisible in life, specifically, air, time, and light. Often we perceive time as linear and predicated. Gibellini’s approach to time is different, she sees it, just like meteorological weather is topological, predictable and unpredictable, ‘explicable’ but also fluctuating, turbulent, accumulative and develops at different speeds – she sees time as chaotic. When you see time as such, how can one visualize it?
Through analysis and guided talk of her last works, Gibellini will share her perception about the relationship between air, time and light and how such conditions can be made visible.
In an age where visualization, especially of data, is required, Gabellini’s work can give us a new perspective, ideas and approach to understand better the process of visualization.
The talk will be held in English.
