Art & Space: When Artists and Scientists Explore Black Holes

Home / Art & Space: When Artists and Scientists Explore Black Holes

We are back on Campus Madrid with our monthly Art & Tech events (Join our Meetup group to stay updated!). For the last event of 2016 we have organized an exciting event!!

This time we will host S.I.E (Space Interactional Experience) Group – an interdisciplinary art, science and technology group whose key divulgative concern is to bring people “one step closer” to the immensity of the physical reality perceived through the limits of human knowledge /cognition.

In this exciting event they will talk about what brought them together and they will present their first project “sound sculpture”- audiovisual installation, programmed in open source code, which simulates an electro-acoustic system and translates the physical phenomena that occur around black holes into sound!

Through this process, they aim to bring the spectators into a purely immersive experience, which mimics the physical reality of this, very literally, singular phenomenon.

Event Schedule:

18:30 – Registration

19:00 – Project Presentation by Daniel Pérez Grande, Dr. Miguel Oliveros, Celia Talamante

19:15 – Interactive Demostration with the Audience (Get Ready to Explore Space!)

19:45 – Panel and Q&A: exploring the realtionship between artists and scientists.

THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE IN ENGLISH, Q&A Might be in Spanish.
