How Art Makes Engineering More Powerful

“Art is not about being decorative but it is a different way of communicating ideas,  and in fact one that can bridge the world of knowledge and insights,” said Bran Ferren, co-founder of Applied Minds, an engineer and the son of artists. In his Ted Talk, Ferren claimed that one shouldn’t choose between art and engineering, as normally society believes, but rather combine them both. When he was 9 years old he visited the Pantheon in Rome — an experience that changed his life. Since then he has chosen to be an engineer and is trying to combine science and engineering with art and design.
