The Artian is happy to be back in Tokyo with another event of our ART X TECH X ENTREPRENEURSHIP series. This time we will host the Japanese artist and designer KiNG.

Since 2000 KiNG has been working in the intersection of art, business, and entrepreneurship. From running her own global fashion design brand to consulting to large companies like Svarovsy, Japan Tabaco and others, KiNG has always brought her unique approach to mix and match different ideas, people and concepts.

In this conversation with Masaaki Hasegawa, KiNG will share her thought process and her lessons working at the intersection of art, design, and business. She will show her projects with business companies and will explain how her artistic background allowed her to break the ordinary in business companies.

Speakers Bio:

KiNG – In 2000, While getting a bachelor’s degree from professor Atsuo Ishii, had been taking charge of special costume for Japanese singer-songwriter “Yumi Matsutoya”.

After that charging of costume design to improve skills of art in the entertainment industry such as singer “Ayumi Hamasaki”, “MISIA” and boys groups “SMAP”, “EXILE” and so on.

In 2011, Started own creative works KING custom.
In 2014, Announced KING custom apparel line and was started to handle it by “JOYCE” in Hong Kong.
In 2016, Opened the flag shop “KING” in Tianjin China and have started to handle by “Legend Agape” in Taiwan.

Masaaki Hasegawa – Artist, author, and concept creator, serving as an ambassador of Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy.

Masaaki has developed the project “Connect People Thru Art Beyond Borders,” a social mission-driven project, and has made the biggest calligraphy artwork in Europe (1926 sq meters) on the rooftop of Zapadores Museum.

He has authored 3 books on creativity in 3 languages giving talks and workshops around the world. Also, Masaaki has experience as a professional MMA fighter and investment strategist.
