In this session, Felipao will share his personal story – how he changed his life from holding roles in business multinationals into being a full-time pop artist. The entrepreneurial journey has many aspects and through the story of Felipao, we will learn about the implication of personal and professional experiences in an artistic context.
“Art must be an element that enriches, in one way or another, our most intimate environment. I think that art has a cathartic power and therefore, the protagonist of my creations is color. I do not usually use sad colors, I want my work to convey optimism, light, strength and spirit,” he says.
You will have the opportunity to ask Felipao questions before and during the event. You can send us questions and topics you are interested to hear about to [email protected] or be ready for the Q&A part.
THE TALK WILL BE HELD IN ENGLISH
Schedule:
18:45 – Registration
19:00 – Felipao’s talk
19:30 – Q&A
About The Speaker:
Born in Morocco, Felipe Garcia-Bañon Sanz-Briz also known as Felipao, has lived around the world, United Arab Emirates, France, Kenya, Nicaragua, Pakistan, … this cosmopolitan life and exposure to different cultures have allowed him to have a polyhedric view of the world.
He settled in Madrid in 1983. He holds a degree in economic and business administration from ICADE. His working life went by various multinational companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Telecinco, Repsol, etc.
In 2009 he decided to make a big change in his life, his need to communicate his experiences, his vision and what had been his passion until then leads him to leave the multinational world and devote himself completely to art.
Throughout these years he has exhibited in Germany, United States, Hong Kong, Mexico, United Kingdom, among other countries, collectively and individually. His works are part of important collections such as those of Philippe Starck, former President César Gaviria, the Koplowitz family and the March family, among others.
He has collaborated on exhibitions and specific art projects for brands like MINI, Tag-Heuer, Glenfiddich, Beefeater, Ebay, Apodemia and Bulldog Gin.
In 2012, he launched his line of decoration, Felipao at Home, with light furniture inspired by his Bulldog sculptures.
His iconic creations have positioned him as one of the most recognized pop artists today, considered by Ebay as “the Pop artist of the moment“. His sculptures are a symbiosis of art, design, and decoration.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][rs_space height=”60px”][vc_column_text]
